What Did Students Do?
Last week students were introduced to the six major geographical regions in Canada. These are the Arctic Region, the Cordillera Region, the Interior Plains Region, the Great Lakes Region, the Atlantic Region, and the Canadian Shield Region. They have now labeled and coloured a map of the regions. This week students were assigned to a region and began to research the provinces included in their region, the climate in their region, the physical features and geography of their region and the natural resources of their region. They are using the online grade 5 textbook to do their initial research. Moving forward, students will be sharing their research with the class and we will be comparing the regions across Canada.
